Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It's set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. The city's heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession.
Starting off from the busy streets of the Kandy town it self , we make our way through to the main Market to experience the vibrant colors , smells , tastes and to cherish the humble smiles of the venders on the streets . Here you see everything that Kandy is famous for , spices , tea , fresh vegetables , different meat items and a variety of street delights to satisfy your hunger for culture. Later on we make our way to the sacred temple of the Tooth (Dalada Maligawa) , to explore more of its rich history and religion . You get a full tour of the temple and the surroundings and gets the chance to leave with a wealth of knowledge on the kingdom itself and a new perspective to life. Afterwards we make our way upto one of Kandy’s many view points where an authentic Sri Lankan lunch is followed by a nice chilled beer to douse the heat from the beating afternoon sun.
