General Conditions:
Rates are quoted in USD (United States Dollars) per person and per night inclusive service charge and prevailing government taxes based on the booked package (all inclusive, activity, etc)
By Foot Adventures has the right to increase rates in the event of taxes increasing or government imposing further taxes.
A Comprehensive Travel Insurance covering cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, emergency Travel, and personal accident, personal baggage and money loss is compulsory for all participants on any stay and activity with By Foot Adventures Sri Lanka. This should be arranged at the time of payment of the deposit to cover you for cancellation from that time. Clients need to fill in an indemnity form upon arrival at our campsite.
The client acknowledges that it is his/ her responsibility to take insurance. The client undertakes to take comprehensive travel insurance to cover his/ her personal requirements
Please note that credit card travel insurance is inadequate for a stay at our campsite
It is also in the responsibility of the client to check on visa requirements prior to arrival and get all visa documents ready prior to departure of the home country. Further information about how to apply for a visa you can find on our webpage.
Unless otherwise discussed, and an all in package is booked our prices include the following services
- Check in time is 4 00 pm and check out time is 3 30 pm. (times vary for Birding week and Explorer Week) Earlier or later arrival/departure needs to be confirmed with By Foot Adventures Sri Lanka in advanced based on availability on arrival/departure day.
- Accomodation in a double bed cabin with en suite bathroom
- Fresh linen , extra blankets and standard bathroom items like shower gel , soap and shampoo.
- Two activities per day
- Binoculars , leech socks, insect repellents and ponchos.
- A qualified Game Ranger will be at your side during your stay and all your activities
- Snacks and drinks on activities
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner at camp
- 24/7 Tea, coffee stand with fresh fruits and snacks.
- Water, fruit juices and other soft drinks (local)
- Local wine, beer and spirits (included in the Your Holiday Package, against extra fee for week programmes)
- Park entry fees
- Government taxes
- Service charge
- Pick up and drop off at arrival and departure at BFA drop point ( 19th km post thangappuwa road) can be arranged. Pls contact us.
Accommodation and child policy:
2 Persons can be accommodated in each cabin (double bed).
Guests below 12 year are considered to be children. Guests aged 12 and above are considered to be adults.
Child Rates:
0-5 years: Free of charge when sharing parents room, excluding extra bed
6-11 years: 25% of the double room rate per person/night when sharing parents room, excluding extra bed
Extra bed:
20USD per night per extra bed. Maximum of one extra bed per cabin
Payment and guarantee of booking:
Booking is confirmed as soon as at least 25% of the payment is done.
Full payment has to be done latest 14 days prior to arrival.
Credit card payments are not possible at the moment.

Cancellation Policy:
0-1 week: no refund can be given
1-2 weeks: refund of 20% of the proforma invoice value
2-5 weeks: refund of 50% of the proforma invoice value
5-… weeks: refund of 75% of the proforma invoice value
Client must bare all local & foreign bank transfer fees and credit card commissions if any for a refund.
Should you wish to cancel your booking pls send a mail to info@byfootadventures-srilanka.com and we will make arrangements to refund the correct portion of your total invoice.
We like again to point out that we highly recommend to arrange a comprehensive travel insurance covering a cancellation.
By Foot Adventures Sri Lanka will have no liability to pay compensation to you for any failure to properly fulfill the contract, where the failure is attributable to you. Examples would be that any member of your party is unable to travel for reasons such as failing to take his/her passport with him/her, or traveling on a passport which does not meet the requirements of entry into Sri Lanka, or to get a required tourist entry visa. By Foot Adventures Sri Lanka assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage to property or for injury, illness or death, for any damages or claims however so caused arising directly or indirectly from war, riot strife, industrial dispute, contact with wild animals, terrorist activity,
actions of governments or other state bodies, unavoidable technical problems with transport, machinery or equipment, delays, power failure, natural disaster, tsunami, fire, adverse weather conditions or levels of water in rivers, accidents from the time of pick up to drop off at By foot Adventures Sri Lanka, or Acts of God.
Refund policy in the case of a cancellation by By Foot Adventures Sri Lanka:
The safety of the client is of utmost importance to us, and in extremely rare circumstances By Foot Adventures Sri Lanka may need to cancel your holiday due to natural disasters, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such an event By Foot Adventures Sri Lanka will guarantee the following refunds:
o Prior to arrival: 100% of the proforma invoice value (excluding transfers to and from By Foot Adventures) to be refunded
o During your stay: 80% of the proforma invoiced value for the number of nights cancelled will be refunded
